Established in 1984, the Gyongyosbokreta Hungarian Folkloric Association is the governing body of the Gyongyosbokreta Hungarian Folk Dance Group, based in Canberra Australia. The group is comprised of local Canberran's of all ages. Some with Hungarian backgrounds, other's with no Hungarian heritage at all, but all having a love for the rich, vibrant and energetic dance that is Hungarian Folk Dance.
The group has learned many dances from all over Hungary and surrounding Hungarian-speaking regions and has performed these dances at events in Canberra and around Australia, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. The group performs annually at major events such as the National Multicultural Festival and Floriade in Canberra as well as at charity events and private functions.
