Established in 1984 by the Hungarian Community of Canberra the Gyongyosbokreta Dance Group performs dances from all over Hungary and surrounding Hungarian-speaking regions. The group has performed at events all over Australia, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne; and perform annually at major events such as the National Multicultural Festival and Floriade as well as at charity events, nursing homes and private functions.

We have an extensive repertoire of choreographies; and care is taken to preserve and accentuate the authentic character of each dance region. To learn new dances and interact with fellow dancers , members of the group attend workshops and seminars throughout Australia, which are led by professional dance teachers from Hungary.
Classes are free of charge and open we cater for all levels of experience and ages, so come along and experience the beauty and rhythms of Hungarian folk culture.
